Colored Girls

Hey ya'll.

So, with the upcoming movie release of Ntozake Shange's "For Colored Girls", I thought I'd share pics from my "Colors of B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L." shoot over the course of this week.
The first is a pic of my girls Farha and Chesha. Who's says every tone can't rock blue eyeshadow?!

Enjoy:)

Anika Noni Rose

Hey ya'll.

There are certain celebrities that I admire. Whether it's because of their roles, their talents, their personal style, etc.
So, today I want to shine the spotlight on Anika Noni Rose. I loved her in DreamGirls and she will always be known as the voice of Disney's first black princess (Tiara).

As I looked through her pics, I noticed her makeup choices usually fall on the neutral side. This pic showcases that tendency; but it also shows how glamor can sometimes accompany simplicity.

So, here's a challenge. Try this look and send me a pic. I'd love to share your skills with the group!

Happy painting!

What a Weekend!

Hey ya'll.

Sorry for the missing posts this weekend.
Saturday, I went to NYC and visited the American Museum of Natural History. Awesome! But it's 4 floors and I didn't see half of it. Then, I had dinner with friends. So, I was pooped after all the fun.

I'm still tired from yesterday.
But I will post a look tonight.

See you then!

Also, don't forget to post comments and ideas.

Twiggy

Hey everyone.

I really love the makeup of the 1960's. The eyes were bold and the lashes were outrageous. Here's a photo of style icon Twiggy. I actually did this look a few months ago and loved the outcome. BUT no one can can carry mod like Twiggy.
Enjoy!

Photo shoot pics

Hey ya'll.

Well, the photog heard my cry! lol.
Here are a few pics from the prep stage and some behind the scenes fix ups.

Tomorrow is my birthday. Yay!! Another year older, another year wiser. As a homage to my new year I will be blogging about skincare. I will be meeting up with Valerie Robinson, founder and CEO of Eden Organix Spa in Highland Park, NJ. She's going to help us preserve or better our complexions with organic products!
I love makeup as much as the next girl; but without a nice, clear foundation, the results aren't so pretty.

So, stay tuned. Enjoy the rest of your Monday:)

Summertime in Autumn

Hey ya'll.
