Rouge Lips

So, I was flipping through Essence Magazine (September issue) tonight and was inspired to try red lips. I NEVER wear red on my lips. It tends to highlight the darkness of my upper lip (eczema). So, I stir clear. Well, as I said I was inspired to try it despite my fears...
I created this look by first putting press powder over my lips so the color wouldn't bleed. Then I lined and filled in my lips with a red liner. After this, I used a red eyeshadow (yes, shadow) over the liner to emphasize the color. Finally, I topped it off with MAC Laquer in Fan-Plastico.
I threw in a metallic eye (Woodwinked by MAC) just for the fun of it!

Ode to Irene

Hey beautiful hunnies.

Well, I survived Hurricane Irene. Thankful that I live in land and didn't experience a power outage or flooding. I'm praying for those who were affected by the storm.
I decided to stay in the house today and play with my makeup. It's an ode to Irene...a turbulent blue...
